Weekly Update 10/26/2021

Good afternoon,

What a joy it was Sunday to gather with the body to read, hear, sing and pray the Word in the morning and then, in the evening, to fellowship together as Christ's redeemed people. Thank you to all the hands that made Elder Burger possible, from those mowing to those serving to those grilling to those helping to clean up afterward to those doing all the things that are unseen. It's deeply edifying to see the congregation spending time together, not unlike the church in Acts. As far as I know, no one ordered their burger to–go.

If you missed Sunday morning's sermon on the conclusion of the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15, you can watch or read it here: (https://subspla.sh/j3wt929)

This coming Sunday we'll look together at one of the more interesting accounts in the entire book, when Paul and Barnabas disagree about John Mark and then, because of that disagreement, separate. We'll be reminded that conflict happens, even on the mission field, even to the Apostle Paul. What might we learn from that? Pray for me as I study that passage this week.

As we've repeatedly said, the building project is moving along quite well. The finishing touches are being put on the north wing this week so that, Lord willing, we can transfer over to that side very soon. So long as you recognize it's still a construction zone, and kids aren't venturing out on their own, we'd encourage you to stroll down the hall and take a look when you get a chance.

Tomorrow night Pastor Phil will conclude our study on Matt Merker's Corporate Worship book with the men. Our children will be meeting for their classes as well. We look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow night at 6:30.

Matt
